Finance Professionals With Successful Startups - Business Insider

olga Videisheva shoptiquesIf you want to make a lot of money, you get a job on Wall Street.

If you want to make even more money, you might dump that Wall Street job for a startup.

It isn't a career path that works out for everyone. But for the founders of Wikipedia and Amazon, for example, ditching finance for tech was a smart choice.

The After Math: Moto X edition

Welcome to The After Math, where we attempt to summarize this week's tech news through numbers, decimal places and percentages.

The After Math Moto X edition

Motorola's got wood! Or at least that's what it said (and eventually unsaid) in conjunction with one of the most unique smartphone announcements we've ever seen. Not only is the Moto X almost literally one-of-a-kind, with its seemingly endless customization options and "assembled in the USA" status, but it's also not the hardware powerhouse you might expect from such a high-profile handset. Add to that Motorola's innuendo-laced marketing campaign and lack of a proper press conference to kick things off, and you've got yourself a healthy helping of digits for this week's After Math.

2013 Fantasy Football: WR PPR Rankings (1-10)

1. Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions
Outlook: Many attribute Johnson?s 2012 campaign to his NFL-record 1,964 receiving yards, but from a PPR perspective, his 122 receptions were just as valuable. His projected receptions for ?13 do come in lower that last year?s, but he also scored only five touchdowns in ?12. That number will dramatically rise this season.

Projections: 99 receptions, 1,606 total yards (14 rushing), 11 touchdowns, & 1 fumble

2. Eric Decker, Denver Broncos
Outlook: Regarding Denver?s receivers, much of fantasy football?s focus is on Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker. However, Decker will be the one to emerge as a bona fide fantasy stud in ?13. He caught 85 passes last season, including 29 over the final four regular-season games. His ability to find the end zone (21 touchdowns the last two years) and strong rapport with Peyton Manning is just icing on the cake.

Projections: 96 receptions, 1,276 receiving yards, & 12 touchdowns

3. Brandon Marshall, Chicago Bears
Outlook: Marshall has 100-plus receptions in nearly each season with Jay Cutler as his starting quarterback. The lone exception being ?06, when both were rookies and Marshall wasn?t a featured player in Denver?s offense.

Projections: 105 receptions, 1,370 total yards (10 rushing), 9 touchdowns, & 1 fumble

4. A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals
Outlook: One of Cincinnati?s major weaknesses is their inability to find a complimentary receiver opposite of Green. The AFC?s equivalency to Johnson?s importance in Detroit?s offense is Green in Cincinnati?s offense.

Projections: 106 receptions, 1,189 receiving yards, 11 touchdowns, & 2 fumbles

5. Victor Cruz, N.Y. Giants
Outlook: Those worrying about Cruz?s contract situation should breathe a sigh of relief, as in early July, he agreed to a long-term contract extension. With no distractions, Cruz is a good bet to lead the Giants in receiving.

Projections: 89 receptions, 1,395 total yards (2 rushing), 10 touchdowns, & 1 fumble

6. Roddy White, Atlanta Falcons
Outlook: While Julio Jones has an edge in standard leagues, White gets the nod under PPR rules. He has 90 or more catches in each of the last three seasons, including 115 in 2010 and 100 in 2011.Randall Cobb

Projections: 97 receptions, 1,345 receiving yards, & 8 touchdowns

7. Randall Cobb, Green Bay Packers
Outlook: Last season Cobb led Green Bay in receptions, despite not taking on a large role until an injury sidelined Greg Jennings. With Jennings now donning Viking colors, nothing will prevent Green Bay from making Cobb the featured skill player in their offense.

Projections: 86 receptions, 1,238 total yards (165 rushing), 10 touchdowns, & 1 fumble

8. Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons
Outlook: Jones is a big-play receiver, but he finished behind White and Tony Gonzalez in receptions last season.

Projections: 73 receptions, 1,236 total yards (74 rushing), 12 touchdowns, & 1 fumble

9. Vincent Jackson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Outlook: Jackson set career highs in receptions (72) and receiving yards (1,384) in 2012. He enters ?13 as one of fantasy?s lesser-known No. 1 receivers.

Projections: 74 receptions, 1,402 total yards (26 rushing), & 8 touchdowns

10. Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys
Outlook: The 2012 campaign was a breakout one for Bryant, who silenced critics with 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns. He?ll only get better, as he finally realizes his full potential.

Projections: 74 receptions, 1,256 total yards (7 rushing), 11 touchdowns, & 2 fumbles

Scoring Key
1 point per reception
1 point per 10 yards receiving
1 point per 10 yards rushing
6 points per touchdown
-2 points per fumble

Google introduces City Experts program to promote better local reviews

DNP Google introduces the City Experts program to promote better local reviews

In an effort to raise the bar on local reviews, Google has just announced the launch of the City Experts program, open to Google+ users with at least 50 reviews under their belts. To maintain membership, City Experts must write a minimum of five reviews per month that meet Google's standards for quality. Said standards aren't particularly strenuous; City Experts are expected to produce three or four sentences that give an accurate and substantial impression of the businesses they're reviewing. To encourage people to sign up, the company is offering a slew of goodies, like custom Google swag, invitations to local events and exclusive offers in the program's monthly newsletter. If nothing tickles your fancy more than slamming or praising businesses in your area, you can sign up at the source link below.
